We had a softball tournament in Madeira Beach recently and even though it’s just over an hour away from home we didn’t want to drive back and forth each day. It was a 4 day tournament. So we made a staycation out of it! There are a few hotels right near the fields but we chose the Holiday Isles Resort.
It is across the street from the Gulf of America/Mexico right on Gulf Boulevard. There are several restaurants nearby which is nice. There is also a 7-11 just up the street. We ended up going there several times for Slurpees and ice cream.
The hotel is an older two story hotel with a pool. I imagine it was built in the 1950s as you can still see the Terrazzo flooring on the threshold of all the doors. It would be cool to see some photos of it in its heyday. I think that time was about the height of travel with people hitting the road on the brand new interstate highways in their fancy new automobiles and going to exotic destinations like Madeira Beach. Of course I never existed anywhere near that time and I’m sure it’s much easier to travel now but they just don’t make hotels and motels like they used to do.
Anyways, it was definitely showing its age. Not so much as to make it a bad stay. It was ok actually. There were a couple plumbing issues they should deal with but it was quiet, well located for our needs, had a bigger than typical hotel fridge, and was a two minute walk to the beach. They do charge for parking in their lot, $15 a night which is in line with the area.
I’d consider staying there again if I was going to the same fields for a tournament but if it was just for fun I’d probably go a bit further south towards John’s Pass or Treasure Island. Here’s a video I made. Consider FOLLOWING ME on TikTok while you’re there so you can see all my future videos.
@letsgoseesomething A quick tour of the Holiday Isles Resort in #madeirabeach Located just across the street from the Gulf of America/Mexico at 14711 Gulf Blvd. You can actually see the Gulf from the 2nd floor if you peek between the buildings. Seems like a nice place. Our room has a kitchenette, 2 beds and a sofa. There is a pool, and they paid parking on site ($15/night) Restaurants are nearby including The Reef and Dockside Dave's right next door. The rate was very reasonable and it's in a nice location for our needs. Would definitely stay here again. #letsgoseesomething #traveltiktok #hotelreview ♬ original sound – Let's Go See Something
